Serra de Casanoves i vall de la Coma. Mas de la Font This is a good route for training if you have limited time. It is close to La Seu d'Urgell and offers a good climb in a short time. Starting at the Palanca bridge, take the road along the river in the direction of Ponent along the old road to d'Arfa. Several marked routes share the same beginning. Within one kilometre you will find a bridge over a stream from where you can see the Casanoves valley. Take the road up the valley. Before arriving at cal (house) Xic, turn right along a new gravel road and gain altitude via a series of switch backs. The road offers views of l'Urgell and La Seu. This road crosses firebreaks in several places. Higher up you will reach a fourway intersection where you turn right towards the Coma valley where there is a deserted village on the other side of the stream. Pass an abandoned house on your left and descend along a steep path through an oak forest until after the Freita stream. Turn left along the tar road below cal Joan which leads you to the old road to d'Arfa and the start. If you turn right you will reach the Casanoves stream. .
